The Minnesota Vikings and their star wide receiver reached an agreement on Monday for a four-year extension, marking the most lucrative non-quarterback contract in NFL history.
Under the terms of the deal, Jefferson will receive a guaranteed $110 million, with the potential value of the contract reaching $140 million. An impressive $88 million will be paid out upon signing.
Jefferson expressed his determination to continue pushing forward, posting on Instagram, “We ain’t stopping here,” accompanied by a video compilation of highlights and acknowledgments in celebration of his new contract. He added, “There’s more to be done.”
Earlier this spring, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah revealed that Jefferson, who holds the record for the most receiving yards in a player’s first four seasons, was on the verge of signing a contract extension last summer. However, as he entered the final year of his rookie deal, the two parties were unable to finalize the agreement.
