Dave Franco found his doppelganger.
On Monday, reports emerged that a suspect in the assassination of CEO Brian Thompson had been arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Many on social media pointed out that the suspect was not Franco, but that he bore some resemblance to him.
Police took 26-year-old Luigi Mangione of Towson, Md., into custody after he was reportedly spotted at a McDonald’s.
People on the Internet noticed the similarities between Franco and Mangione, and they took the opportunity to poke fun at the “Supervillain” actor. For a while, Franco was number five on X. Luigi Mangione was No. 1, McDonald was No. 3, the arrest was No. 8, and his release was No. 10.
One X user wrote: “Dave Franco answer the phone,” while another mentioned TV writer, producer and director Ryan Murphy.
Murphy is known for adapting films and writing series based on real-life stories, including “The Plastic Surgery Room” and “American Horror Story,” as well as “Run With Scissors” starring Alec Baldwin and “Eat Pray Love” starring Julia Roberts.
