“Dancing for the Devil ”star Miranda Derrick says her life is in ‘danger’ after Netflix docuseries

Miranda Derrick, the star of the popular Netflix docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, has revealed that she and her husband, James “BDash” Derrick, have faced severe repercussions since its release.

In an emotional statement, Derrick expressed her desire to be open and vulnerable with her audience. She shared that prior to the documentary’s release, she and her husband felt safe. However, since its debut, their lives have been plagued with danger. They have been followed while driving, received hate mail and death threats, and have even been targeted with messages encouraging suicide. Additionally, they have experienced instances of stalking.

The docuseries, which premiered last month, sheds light on Derrick and other young dancers who gained popularity through their online performances. Some of them allege that their lives were controlled by a management company called 7M Films, headed by a pastor associated with the Shekinah Church in Los Angeles.
According to a report by CNN, the company has previously stated that it operates independently from the church. No charges have been filed in the case, but the accused individual has filed a lawsuit against several former church members, claiming defamation and trade libel.

Derrick, who had been estranged from her family, had recently reestablished communication with them. However, she expressed concern that the documentary has put this newfound connection at risk.

“For the past few years, I’ve been privately working on repairing and rebuilding my relationship with my family,” Derrick explained. “We’ve been making progress and enjoying each other’s company. Unfortunately, this documentary has made it challenging to continue that process.”
According to Netflix, the three-part documentary series, directed by Derek Doneen and produced by Dirty Robber and WV Alternative, delves into the sinister methods employed by cult-like organizations to manipulate individuals and explores the extraordinary measures families take to protect their loved ones.
