Denver and snow fell in the mountains of Colorado, with high wind warnings affecting Chautauqua and Erie counties on Monday

The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning at 8:22 p.m. on Sunday in effect until Monday at 4 p.m. for Chautauqua and Erie counties.

The weather service comments, “Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.”

“Strong winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” adds the weather service. “Avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.”
