Google makes it easier to multi-task with minimized in-app Chrome tabs

In certain cases, opening a link from one app to another on a mobile device can be disruptive and divert your attention from the current task. However, a recent update to Chrome aims to address this issue and help you stay focused. For example, when you click on a link within Gmail and open a Chrome tab within the app, you can now minimize the browser by tapping on the chevron icon in the toolbar, located next to the “x” or close button. This action transforms the open tab into a small, floating picture-in-picture window that can be easily dragged anywhere on the screen.

You can minimize it while using the original app, and when you want to view its contents, simply tap the floating window to restore the tab to its original size. We have already tested this new feature on Android within Gmail. If you don’t have it yet, you will be able to use it soon as long as you have Chrome as your default browser and keep it updated. The feature is enabled by default, so there is no need to activate it. Additionally, if you prefer to work with different tasks in separate windows, you can always send an in-app tab to the Chrome browser to enhance productivity.
