In a recent statement, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reported that Israel’s military offensive in Gaza has resulted in the death or injury of 60 percent of Hamas fighters. He further claimed that a significant number of the 24 battalions belonging to the Hamas military wing have been dismantled since the conflict began on October 7. Gallant made these remarks during a session in the Israeli parliament.
