The wait for the first “Superman” trailer is almost over.
Warner Bros. announced Monday that James Gunn’s “Superman,” starring David Collenswaite as the new Iron Man, will open Thursday at 6 a.m. Fans can see Christopher Reeve in a whole new light with a moving poster that pays homage to the iconic Superman version.
If you listen closely, you’ll hear a slow rendition of composer John Williams’ famous “Superman” theme song (from Reeve’s 1978 film). Williams’s score is known for its deafening trumpets and triumphant tones, while Gunn’s film poster reinterprets the music in a quieter, more thoughtful reimagining. Horns and brass were replaced by strings, and a woman’s voice hummed the iconic melody.
