Sydney Sweeney, 27, has been slammed by Internet users after she shared an epic boxing workout in a bikini photo

After media outlets posted paparazzi photos of actress Sydney Sweeney in a bikini, body shamers launched unfair criticisms against her. In response, the star of “Anyone But You” showcased her impressive workout routine. The 27-year-old has been rigorously training to portray boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. Sydney Sweeney is literally fighting back against body shamers.

To provide some context: last week, the Daily Mail and several other publications released paparazzi photos of Sydney at her waterfront mansion in the Florida Keys. In the images, Sydney is seen walking around, adjusting her top, and fixing her hair while wearing a purple bikini by the pool.

Unsurprisingly, some individuals on Reddit went into a frenzy, harshly critiquing Sydney’s appearance while she was simply enjoying her own space.
Instead of ignoring the ridiculous comments, the Euphoria star chose to post them on Instagram. Some of the comments included gems like, “She knocked up? Stung by a nest of wasps? Dive into a swimming pool full of donuts and chips? Good grief man!” and “Quite frumpy, isn’t she?”

After scrolling through numerous comments, the video transitions to footage of Sydney engaging in various intense exercises, such as boxing, flipping massive tires, and lifting weights.

At the end of the video, one name is revealed: Christy Martin. The reason? Sydney trained to portray the professional boxer in an upcoming biopic. According to IMDB, the movie is currently in post-production but does not yet have a publicly announced release date or official title.

While Sydney clearly dedicated herself to preparing for this role, she is no stranger to staying active. She previously told Women’s Health that she loves slalom waterskiing.
“It requires a great deal of upper body strength, balance, core stability, and leg power—you get exhausted quickly,” she explained. “After spending an entire summer skiing, I notice significant changes in my body. My arms become stronger and more defined, and my abs are incredibly toned. However, I never perceive it as a workout because it’s so enjoyable.”

Sydney is also an avid hiker, often trekking with her dog, Tank, and has practiced mixed martial arts (MMA) for years, she revealed to WH. She includes running and strength training in her fitness regimen as well. Additionally, she’s a devoted fan of Solidcore, a comprehensive Pilates workout.

“It’s one of the most effective workouts you can do, and it’s incredibly challenging,” she remarked. “It makes me feel toned and strong, yet also elongated, and I thoroughly enjoy it.”

Sydney’s message to body shamers is unequivocal: Take a seat.
