The Alabamian man was arrested in Marshall County on charges of obstruction by threatening, illegal possession of marijuana, criminal trespass and driving while intoxicated

SCANT CITY, Ala. (WAFF) -67-year-old Ollie Chas Moore Jr. of Birmingham was arrested following a standoff in Scant City, in Marshall County.

According to Arab Police Chief Shane Washburn, Arab Police, along with multiple agencies, responded to the 4000 block of Eddy Scant City Road Thursday evening after a call of a suspicious person.

The caller stated to Arab Police Dispatch that another driver had followed him home. When the caller approached the car and asked why they were being followed, Moore reportedly told them “What have you got?”

When Arab Police arrived to the scene, they found Moore Jr. in the driver’s seat with a handgun. Officers then asked Moore Jr. to get out of the car. When he refused, other agencies, along with SWAT were called.

After SWAT and negotiators arrived at the scene, officers were able to take him into custody without any issues. Moore Jr. is being charged with menacing, unlawful possession of marijuana, obstruction of governmental operations, criminal trespass and DUI.

Moore Jr. is being held in the Marshall County Jail.
